The design of the scarf "Malachite casket" by the designer Nina Ruchkina is inspired
by Malachite stone. Malachite is one of the most amazing and most beautiful stones in
the world. Substantial malachite fields, which made this mineral famous all over the
world, were discovered in Russia. Artisans from the Urals created real masterpieces
from malachite which impress by the depth of artistic vision and processing perfection.
Precisely the Malachite vase was sent as a gift from Russian Tsar Nicolas I to English
King George IV, and it is still standing at Windsor castle. Many mysterious and mystical
stories are connected with malachite. The most impressive is the fairy tale "The
Malachite Casket" written by Russian writer Pavel Bazhov was translated into dozens
